- 1 qt. water
- 1 hand ginger, sliced, or chopped (you may leave the skin on if you wash it really well first, otherwise peel lightly with the back of a spoon)
- 1 bottle tonic water
- 1 splash Lemon juice
- In medium pot combine water and ginger.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce to a simmer for 2 hours.
- In 12 oz glass (tall) add 1/4 cup of the ginger extraction to about 1 cup of tonic water (basically fill to about 1.5 inches below rim), taste and add lemon juice and sweetener until adjusted to your liking.
- Top with ice if desired.
Makes: Up to you as it depends on what you can stand for strength.
Suggestion: Use it in place of store bought Ginger-Ale (I mean garbage).
Notes: Gets rid of raspy throats and sniffles faster than a super hero can shout “SHAZAAM!!!”
