GlobalChat is a mod that allows chatting with all players that have the mod and are in the same channel. It may be useful for modpack creators or modded server network owners.
Where do I have to install GlobalChat?
GlobalChat is a server and client mod. If you play in multiplayer you have to install the mod on the client (to recieve messages) and on the server (to send messages). If you play in singleplayer you just have to install it on the client (it will send and recieve in singleplayer).
How can I configure GlobalChat?
After you started the mod first the file globalchat.cfg will appear in the folder config in the server’s/client’s minecraft folder. In this file you can configure the following things:
- If you set B:active to false the mod will just not recieve and send messages. If B:active is true the mod will send and recieve messages. Default: true
- With S:channel you can set the channel. The messages you send will only be recieved by players who have the same channel set as you. Also you will only recieve messages sent by users who have the same channel as you set. This feature is nice for modpack creators as they can for example set the channel to their modpack’s name and only their modpack’s users will communicate with each other. Default: globalchat
